David Ajasin
Mr. David Ajasin handles all matters before New York City’s premier Administrative Court (Office of Trials and Hearing, also known as OATH/ECB Court).  Specifically, he litigates and represents clients against the Department of Transportations, the Department of Buildings, the NYPD and the FDNY.  Mr. Ajasin also provides outside general counseling to contractors, developers, and property management companies.  He defends NYC licensees and registrants such as Master Plumbers and Construction Superintendent before OATH’s Trial Division.  He further defends applicants unfairly denied a license in the New York Supreme Court.
Mr. Ajasin brings extensive knowledge, insight, and experience to help solve your problems. He previously worked as a senior staff attorney for the Department of Buildings’ Administration in its Enforcement Unit, where he was tasked with rebuilding the decimated unit. He led the unit’s reconstruction by unilaterally providing stability, calm, and guidance for numerous attorneys, enforcement inspectors, and Department staff.
As a senior attorney for the Unit, Mr. Ajasin took on various responsibilities including managing a team of 30 attorneys and providing instrumental training and guidance to new enforcement staff on the myriad of New York City construction codes and land use regulations. He also was a guiding force at the Department on legal policy, procedure, and practice. He also developed training curricula and trained hundreds of inspectors in his time at the Department of Buildings. As a natural litigator, Mr. Ajasin further represented the City of New York on tens of thousands of cases involving millions of dollars at the City’s Administrative Court (OATH/ECB) and its appellate unit. Mr. Ajasin’s caseload was diverse and included high profile and media-worthy cases, construction accidents, equipment failures, building collapses, improper demolitions, complex zoning matters, and building maintenance issues. Mr. Ajasin is a recipient of the 2018 Buildings Commissioner’s Award for Excellence.
Before working for the City of New York, Mr. Ajasin was an extern in the University of Dayton’s Legal Affairs Office and subsequently worked with in-house counsel for the Village of Hempstead’s Community Development Agency.
Mr. Ajasin is licensed to practice law in New York. He earned his Juris Doctorate from the University of Dayton School of Law.  Earlier, Mr. Ajasin earned his undergraduate degree at SUNY Plattsburgh, where he double majored in Political Science and Latin American Studies. Mr. Ajasin is a member of both the New York County Lawyers Association and the Nassau County Bar Association.
Mr. Ajasin prides himself on his zealous and ethical representation of his clients on a variety of legal matters.
